A new social platform from Ceará has gained notice for its expansion and for changing the digital experience by emphasizing user control of content. Poosting, founded by Ceará entrepreneur Afonso Alcântara, presents itself as a different option and fights against misinformation.
The founder stated that the network has more than 130,000 registered users and has been valued at approximately R$ 6 million. Alcântara expressed in a video that the platform aims to offer a new social networking experience with nostalgic elements from older social networks, emphasizing a more authentic approach that focuses on user satisfaction.
No filters for engagement
Poosting shows users content without relying on algorithmic filters that prioritize user engagement. The founder aims to prevent information bubbles and enable users to access diverse perspectives.
In Poosting, interactions extend beyond simply liking a post. Users can share their opinion using a like, star, or trash icon, enabling them to shape community content authentically and directly.
“We desire a platform where individuals can share their news and information, engage with each other, meet new people, and interact more organically, resembling real-life interactions,” he explains.
Fighting against misleading information
The platform aims to reduce the spread of misinformation by providing a dedicated space for news from reputable journalistic sources.
Poosting plans to implement advertising on its platform in a unique way to prevent visual clutter and excessive ads, aiming for rapid growth in the near future, as stated by Alcântara.

In Poosting, there are no “followers”, but rather “allies.” According to Alcântara in a YouTube video, forming alliances with other users enhances connections, fostering a more significant and vibrant interaction network. Additionally, alliances can be easily dissolved if needed, allowing for flexible connections.
Nothing is excluded, including both posts and accounts, encouraging users to be thoughtful before sharing and ensuring authenticity, meaning, and impact in each content by imposing a daily limit on posts to prioritize quality.

The social media platform gives users verification badges depending on their level of influence on the platform, as per a specific criteria.
