Meta revealed on Tuesday (21) the inclusion of WhatsApp in the Account Center, enabling users to control shared settings and share status across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook platforms.
Users can access all three apps using just one login, as long as they have one account each.
The latest update enables sharing WhatsApp status on Instagram and Facebook.
Integration does not include the ability to share Instagram and Facebook stories on WhatsApp.
Meta announced that the feature will be rolled out slowly over the next few months, with automatic activation for users with multiple connected accounts.
The Account Center was first introduced in 2020 for Facebook and Instagram, enabling users to sync preferences like profile pictures and manage shared settings across platforms. The recent addition of WhatsApp expands this integration further.
The company’s statement clarifies that the integration is voluntary and turned off as the default setting. The privacy of messages and calls on WhatsApp will not be impacted and will continue to be safeguarded by end-to-end encryption.
