Civil Defense Guidelines

The State of São Paulo’s Civil Defense advises people to take preventive actions and adhere to safety guidelines throughout the week.

Avoid dangerous locations such as inclines, river edges, and areas prone to flooding.

Stay in secure locations during storms, steering clear of trees, metal structures, and open spaces.

Be mindful of the shoreline and towns that have experienced significant rainfall in the past few days.

Clean coils, clear drains, and scrub surfaces to avoid water overflow.

In case of emergencies, call 199 for Civil Defense or 193 for the Fire Department.

During a sudden storm, it is crucial to seek shelter in a safe location and wait until the rain stops, particularly if you are at the beach, park, or in an open area and hear thunder sounds, as recommended by Civil Defense.
