Microsoft has just launched the KB5050085 update for the Windows 11 Beta channel, introducing several undisclosed enhancements such as upgrades to File Explorer, additional features in the Start menu, modifications to the settings’ “About” page, and progress in artificial intelligence utilization.
Improvements in File Explorer
File Explorer now adjusts the font size to match system settings for better visibility on larger screens. This issue has been resolved in the latest Beta build.

The “Start” section of File Explorer now shows recommended cards for all users, not just corporate users, and the IA search feature on PCs with Copilot+ enables more intuitive semantic searches for easier file location.
New choices available in the Start menu

The Start menu in Windows 11 now includes “Grade” and “Category” layouts for the “All apps” section, improving navigation efficiency. Clicking on a subcategory icon expands it to show application icons, making usage more intuitive, similar to mobile app groupings.
Information cards found on the About page

The “About” page in the settings now features a new card layout to present key details like storage, GPU, memory, and CPU in a more visual manner, replacing the previous basic design.
