The US decision to withdraw from the WHO was criticized by Islamic countries.

The UN agency expressed disapproval of President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization.

Tarik Jasarevic in Geneva, where the organization is headquartered, expressed a desire for the United States to reconsider its stance.

Trump ordered federal agencies to halt any future transfers of funds, support, or resources from the US government to the WHO on his first day of the second term as president.

The Republican leader, during his first term, had previously warned of pulling the US out of the WHO, claiming that the UN agency was under the influence of China at the start of the covid-19 outbreak.

The United States is the biggest contributor to the WHO and offers crucial resources to back many of its activities.

Jarasevic emphasized the important role the WHO plays in safeguarding the global population’s health and safety, including that of Americans.

“We aim to engage in a positive discussion to uphold the collaboration between the US and WHO for the welfare of millions of individuals globally,” he stated.

The European Union voiced worry about Trump’s choice and emphasized the importance of global cooperation in order to be prepared for worldwide health risks.
