Tencent, the Chinese technology company, announced on Monday (17) that they have started testing an artificial intelligence model with users, following the integration of DeepSeek into their products.
The Chinese startup DeepSeek, which focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), introduced its R1 chatbot that could rival American counterparts at a significantly reduced price.
Several Chinese companies have stated that they have integrated DeepSeek into their products.
On Monday, Tencent announced that certain Yuanbao chatbot users can utilize both DeepSeek and their latest AI model, “Hunyuan Thinker”.
The group assessed that, due to these two models with thorough analysis, responses to questions appear more professional and human.
Tencent, based in Shenzhen in southern China, is the owner of the widely-used WeChat app, as well as being a major player in the video game and streaming industries.
According to a Tencent representative, the company recently released a beta version for accessing DeepSeek through WeChat, which boasts over a billion monthly active users.
Baidu, a Chinese technology giant, stated on Sunday that it will include DeepSeek in its established and top-performing search engine.
Some countries like Italy, Australia, and South Korea have doubts about DeepSeek, despite its popularity in China, and are questioning how users’ personal data is handled.
