The recent Senate presidency election was a missed opportunity for change, but I remain committed to representing the millions of Brazilians who have trusted me. It is essential for the Senate to act as a strong counterbalance during this critical time in Brazil, addressing issues such as freedom of expression and individual rights. While I respect my party’s decision to support another candidate, I believe in standing by my principles and advocating for what I believe is right.
Now that the election is over, it is time to move forward together and focus on advancing the agendas I supported during the campaign, which align with my party and much of the Senate. My commitment is to Brazil’s progress in various areas such as science, technology, education, health, environment, and economic sustainability. Sustainable growth and technological innovation are practical ways to reduce inequalities and enhance the lives of Brazilians. I have proposed over 300 initiatives in these crucial areas for the country’s development in the past two years, emphasizing the importance of scientific research, industrial modernization, and knowledge promotion. Unity is essential now to defend democracy, uphold the balance of powers, and strengthen the Senate as a true representative of the people. My dedication to Brazil and addressing its challenges remains unwavering.
