In Niterói (RJ), the advancement of technology was on display as San Francisco Beach attendants witnessed a humanoid robot strolling with a robotic dog, showcasing impressive progress.
The incident, captured by a woman and a child, was identified by the words: “See that, Bernardo!” The footage gained popularity on the I Am from Niterói page, sparking interest in the robots’ source.
A post by I Sou de Niterói was shared.
The robot, called Troy, had arrived in Brazil on January 12 this year, the same day as the recording. In an interview with iG, Douglas Arraes, director of Futuremedia, the company in charge of importing and providing this technology, mentioned that the original plan was simply to bring the robot to a public location for a few photos.
“We only had a prototype at the moment, similar to the one in the video, and it was a success! I am grateful to have had direct communication with the manufacturer. We got information about the release firsthand, placed our order, and had priority in purchasing,” Douglas stated.
Troy symbolizes the start of a significant advancement in service robots, with the capability to move independently and feature mechanical hands with tactile sensors to control the force used for grasping objects.

Robots can go into dangerous places where humans cannot go, like factories, platforms, and unstable areas. In case of a collapse, they could check for survivors inside unstable structures.
Robots with specialized capabilities for public service, such as autonomous movement and tracking individuals to various locations, are already in use, showcasing significant technological advancement.
One robot has been giving guided tours at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro for more than 18 months, showcasing how innovation is changing daily life.
